"Have questions about our perfume decants? You’re in the right place! Below, you’ll find answers to some of the most common queries about our products, from their sizes and authenticity to how best to use and store them. If you need further assistance, feel free to reach out to us!"
1. What is a perfume decant?
A perfume decant is a smaller portion of fragrance transferred from the original bottle into a convenient atomizer.
Our decants come in two size categories:
All decants are authentic and sourced from original bottles to ensure quality.
2. Are your decants authentic?
Yes, we guarantee that all our decants are sourced from 100% authentic, original fragrance bottles. We do not sell imitations or replicas.
3. What sizes of decants are available?
We offer a variety of sizes, typically ranging from 2ml, 5ml, 10ml, to suit your needs for sampling or traveling.
4. How are your decants packaged?
Our decants are carefully transferred into high-quality, secure containers to preserve the fragrance and ensure safe delivery.
5. Can I request a specific fragrance to be added to your collection?
Absolutely! Please contact us via our Contact Page to suggest a fragrance you’d like us to stock.
6. Do you ship outside of South Africa?
Currently, we only offer shipping within South Africa.
We’ve partnered with The Courier Guy to provide reliable delivery, with the following shipping options:
7. Can I return a decant if I don’t like the scent?
Due to the nature of the product, we cannot accept returns for used decants. However, if there is an issue with your order, please contact us, and we’ll do our best to resolve it.
8. How should I store my perfume decants?
Store your decants in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures, to maintain their quality.
9. How long will a decant last?
The longevity of samples and decants is not ideal for long-term storage, as they are poured into screw-on atomizers and may be prone to evaporation over time. A 2ml decant typically provides 20-30 sprays, making it great for sampling or short-term use.
10. Can I gift a decant?
Yes, decants make excellent gifts for fragrance enthusiasts. Let us know if you’d like us to include a special note with your order!
11. Why is there an air gap in my decant?
To ensure proper pressurization during transit, we leave a small air gap at the top of each decant. This air pocket is essential to accommodate temperature changes during shipping and does not mean your sample is missing any liquid.
Rest assured, we carefully measure each decant, and the liquid amount will match the size you selected (e.g., 2ml, 5ml, 10ml). The air gap is accounted for when we prepare your order to ensure you receive the full amount.
12. Will the decants look like the original bottles?
No, the photos on our storefront are for identification purposes only. What you receive is a portion of the authentic fragrance, transferred into a separate atomizer or vial. These decants are not packaged to resemble the original bottles, as no samples or decants are designed this way.
13. What are the different perfume concentrations?
Perfumes come in various concentrations, which determine the strength and longevity of the scent. Here’s a breakdown:
Eau de Cologne (EDC):
The most diluted version, containing 2% to 5% perfume oil. These are typically light, splash-style fragrances.
Eau de Toilette (EDT):
A popular concentration in department store fragrances, with 4% to 15% perfume oil. Stronger and longer-lasting than EDC.
Eau de Parfum (EDP):
Stronger than EDT, with a perfume oil concentration of 10% to 20%. These offer a more intense and longer-lasting scent.
Extrait de Parfum or Pure Perfume:
The most concentrated form, containing 15% to 40% perfume oils. Extraits last significantly longer than EDP, EDT, or EDC.
